Jagran Correspondent, Patiala: Government is making efforts at every level to bring prosperity from stubble. This time the Punjab Pollution Control Board has started preparations for this so that stubble does not burn in the field. In order to check the cases of paddy stubble burning, PPCB has fixed the responsibility of more than 10,000 officers across the state. These officers will start monitoring the air quality from 15th September itself.

Since this time due to earlier sowing of paddy crop, harvesting will also be quick. In such a situation, the process of burning stubble can start in September itself. If pollution increases, there will be stir till Delhi. Anyway, the Delhi government always blamed the Punjab government for increasing pollution from stubble. Now there is your government in both the places. Punjab cannot even be blamed on behalf of the Delhi government. In such a situation, controlling pollution will be a big challenge for the Aam Aadmi Party.

This time paddy has been sown in 31.5 lakh hectares in the state. This is expected to yield more than 20 million tonnes of stubble. If the sowing of paddy crop had started about a week before the scheduled date, then the process of stubble burning can also start from the middle of September instead of the end of September. Due to this, PPCB has decided to start monitoring the air quality from September 15 along with the Agriculture Department.

Caution: stubble management machines will be provided to 60 thousand farmers

Efforts are also being made by the government to provide stubble management machines to the farmers before harvesting so that they do not burn the stubble. Around 65,000 farmers in the state have also applied for subsidized crop residue management machines. These machines will be provided to the farmers.
