Jagran Correspondent, Ludhiana. Farmers in Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) and animal husbandry fair at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary University (Gadavasu) are starting from Friday. Thousands of farmers from Punjab will gather in this fair, which will continue for two days. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will reach the opening ceremony of the fair.
Tight security arrangements in view of Chief Minister's visit
During the fair, farmers will get information about new varieties, techniques and research developed by PAU, so that agriculture and dairy of the state can be taken to the heights by giving a new direction. Elaborate security arrangements have been made in view of the CM's visit. Rural Development, Agriculture and Panchayat Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal will also be present with the CM. Animal Husbandry Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar will be specially involved.
Entry will be possible from gate number one, five and eight
The traffic police has released the route plan for the Kisan Mela, which will continue for two days. Under this, the farmers and general public coming to the fair will get entry from Gate number one, Gate number five near Veterinary Hospital and Gate number eight South City Road Ludhiana of PAU. ACP Traffic Charanjeev said that people will have to park their vehicles in the parking made with the above entry gates and reach the fair on foot. The Meteorological Department has predicted cloudy sky and rain at isolated places in the city on Friday. In such a situation, the rain can also spoil the fun of the farmers fair. However, full preparations have been made for this.
