Dharam Singh Deol was born on 8 December 1935 in the village Nasrali and later his family settled in Sahnewal. He is known as Dharmendra and people in India love him as an Indian film actor, producer, and politician. He is considered one of those who is best known for his work in Indian cinema. He is also known as the "He-Man" of Indian cinema. The most successful actors in the history of Indian cinema.
In the mid-seventies, He was also voted among the top 10 most handsome men in 1997, he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Hindi cinema. One and only of his most outstanding roles was in the 1975 movie Sholay. He was a member of the 15th Lok Sabha of India, representing Bikaner constituency in Rajasthan from the Bharatiya Janata Party
In 2012, one was awarded India's third-highest civilian honor Padma Bhushan by the Government of India.
Television
Dharmendra quit reality show in 2011 and launched Sajid Khan in the place of Dharmendra as the male judge of the third series of the popular reality show India's Got talent. On 29 July 2011, India's Got Talent broadcast on Colors’ tv with Dharmendra as the new brand judge and breakout the opening ratings of the previous two seasons.

He founded a production company known as Vijayta Films in 1983. Vijayta Films production Betaab released Betaab film in 1983 and launched Sunny Deol as the lead actor in this movie. This movie was so popular and ranked the 2nd highest-grossing film of the year. In 1990 he released the action movie Ghayal and Sunny Deol played the lead role in this movie. The film also did miracles and grabbed 7 Filmfare Awards, including the Best film Award. It bagged the National Film Award for Best Popular Film delivering decent Entertainment. This, he launched Bobby, in 1995 in Barsaat. Bobby is his younger son after Sunny.
Politics
Dharmendra served as a Member of the Indian Parliament (Lok Sabha) representing Bikaner in Rajasthan from 2004 to 2009 on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party. he made repulsive words that he should be elected dictator perpetuo to teach "basic etiquette that democracy requires" During his election campaign in 2004, for which he was severely
criticized. He rarely attended Parliament when the house was in session, preferring to spend the time shooting for movies or doing farm-work at his Farmhouse.
Personal life
Dharmendra's first marriage was to Parkash Kaur at the age of 19 in 1954. He had two sons and two daughters from this marriage, Sunny, Bobby, successful actors, and Vijeeta, and AJeeta respectively. He started a film industry as a business after moving to Bombay. Here he married Hema Malini after allegedly converting to other religions to stay married to his first wife without having to get divorced, although he later denied any conversion to Islam. He and Malini starred together in a number of movies in the early 1970s including the superhit film, the Sholey.
The couple has two daughters, Esna Deol (an actress, born in 1981) and Anana Deol (an assistant director, born in 1985). Dnarmendra's grandson and son of Bobby Deol are also named "Dharam Singh Deol" after, In 2019, Dharmendra's grandson and Sunny Deol's son Karan Deol made a debut with Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas.
