Sikh organizations jammed Samrala Chowk in Ludhiana, demanding arrest of VHP leader Arora; multiple routes divert

Traffic coming from Jalandhar and going towards Chandigarh is being diverted from Tajpur Road. Traffic going from Jalandhar to Delhi was diverted from Jagraon bridge via Sherpur. Traffic going from Jalandhar to Firozpur is being cleared by bypass.

Jagran Correspondent Ludhiana. The matter is getting worse due to non-arrest of Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Anil Arora, who was nominated for abusing Sikh gurus by abusing them. Angry Sikh organizations started a sit-in protest in Samrala Chowk on Tuesday demanding the arrest of the accused. They demanded that the police arrest the accused as soon as possible. The police knew about the dharna a day before. Due to which the police diverted the routes from many places for the traffic coming out of the city. ADCP Traffic Sandeep Sharma said that heavy traffic coming from Chandigarh was diverted from Kohara and small vehicles from the road in front of Veer Palace.

Traffic coming from Jalandhar and going towards Chandigarh is being diverted from Tajpur Road. Traffic going from Jalandhar to Delhi was diverted from Jagraon bridge via Sherpur. Traffic going from Jalandhar to Firozpur is being cleared through the new bypass located at the toll plaza. The traffic going from Firozpur to Jalandhar is also being diverted through the same route. Traffic going from Firozpur to Delhi and Chandigarh has been diverted from Southern Bypass towards Doraha.

It is worth mentioning that on October 20, the police station division number three police had registered a case against the said leader Anil Arora for hurting religious sentiments and spreading disharmony. The accused is absconding since that day. In search of him, the police have raided many of his places. Declaring him a commercial fugitive, a reward of Rs 1 lakh has also been announced for giving information about him. The police also arrested 7 such relatives and close ones who were accused of helping and giving shelter to him.
