Little Stories from Sikh History
Maharaja Ranjit Singh
In the large Sangat who came to witness the ceremony at the Darbar, Ranjit Singh made an appeal, "If any Mai Bhai has seen Guru Gobind Singh Ji in person during his lifetime, let him come forward." It is worth mentioning that at that time it was only 91 years since Dasam Pita was gone!
Silence for a long time...
Then after that, an old Baba Ji stood up..slowly came forward and started saying that once he went to Anandpur Sahib with his father when he was little he had a very little glimpse of Dasam Pita from a distance in the decorated Diwan ..!
Maharaja Ranjit Singh touched the feet of the old man and asked Baba Ji how did you feel when you saw Guruji? Saying further, “my son, what was it like to have, it just felt as if my eyes were dazzled by the bright light of so many suns..the whole body was standing on the edge ..!”
Hearing this, Ranjit Singh became emotional and started saying to the old man, "Baba Ji, know the truth, now by seeing you I feel the same as you would have felt with a glimpse of Dasam Pita ..!
Bhai Diwan Todar Mal

Diwan Todar Mal he was a man, who sacrificed his life, wealth, and business in the love of the tenth Guru, and buy the five physical bodies of chhote Sahibzade ( Four Son of Guru Govind Singh Ji) and Mata Gujri ji, who were martyred in the month of December 1705, at heavy price.
Touching the ruined mansion of that deity in the middle of Sirhind city, I don't know why we and our Panth Ratnas don't stand on the edge ..?
Bhai Nand Lal Ji

Prince Moazzam, the son of Aurangzeb, a Hindu scholar, used to take Arabic and Persian tuitions at the Mughal court. So many political dignitaries were called to Darbaar to translate a letter from the Arab’s Khalifa. Aurangzeb was stunned when the Hindu scholar translated the letter more accurately than the others.
He started thinking that he should be a great scholar of Arabic language but he should be non-Islamic. How can this be possible? Immediately issue an order to convert this scholar to Islam and if he refuses then the head should be penned!
Frightened by the fatwa issued, the scholar spoke to his student Prince Moazzam. Saying, Prince, tell me a place where both my faith and my life will be saved...I don't want to convert to Islam! Aurangzeb's son Prince Moazzam started saying Ustad ji your faith and life can only be safe in one place..the name of that place is Anandpur Sahib ..! He left Delhi that night with the help of an official and reached Anandpur Sahib overnight ..!
Bhai Sahib Bhai Nand Lal Ji, the foremost poet of his time, was the scholar of Arabic and Persian language who escaped from Delhi Darbar and reached Guru Gobind Sahib Ji's Darbar. The same Nand Lal who wrote so much in his lifetime in praise of Guru Gobind Singh Ji!
Dasam Pita's Darbar was praised. No one was forced to shout “ Bole So Nihaal, Sat Shri Akal” and no one was forcibly converted!
