JNN, Amritsar/Jalandhar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Punjab. He reached Dera Beas of Radha Swami sect. He was accorded a grand welcome on his arrival at Adampur airbase in Jalandhar. After this he left for Dera Beas by helicopter. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Dera Beas chief Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon. After this he left for addressing election rallies in Himachal Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited various places including Satsang Hall, Langar Bhawan in Dera Beas. During this, he also got acquainted with the Dera followers present there. Dera Mukhi Baba Gurinder was also present with him. Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the arrangements, traditions and activities of the Dera.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Dera Beas just before the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections. Dera Beas has a lot of influence in Punjab as well as in Himachal Pradesh. Tight security arrangements were made around Adampur airbase and Dera Beas in view of Prime Minister Modi's visit. Para-military forces and Punjab Police personnel were deployed throughout the area. Let us tell you that during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Firezpur last year, there was a security lapse and his convoy got stuck in traffic on an overbridge. There was a lot of controversy over this and the then Charanjit Singh Channi government of Punjab came under target.
For this reason, tight security arrangements were made in view of Prime Minister Modi's visit today. Although PM Modi went to Dera Beas by helicopter, security was tightened along the roads as well. Security has also been tightened around Dera Beas.
