Passengers from Italy had reached Ludhiana late on Thursday night
Civil Surgeon Dr. SP Singh says that the positive passengers who returned to Italy had reached Ludhiana late on Thursday night. Even before coming to Ludhiana, their samples were sent for genome sequencing. These passengers were to be isolated at the Civil Hospital earlier, but the Airport Authority has sent them directly home. Our teams have gone to the homes of the passengers. Samples of passengers will be taken again. Even if negative, they will have to remain isolated for seven days. New guidelines for home isolation have arrived.
Now after coming positive, there will be seven days of home isolation. If people who have returned from abroad come positive, then they will have to stay in home isolation for 14 days. The rules haven't changed for them. Teams of the Health Department are monitoring the people who have returned from abroad from time to time. The staff will be completed in the coming few days after which the conditions will be better.
