Many people were found infected in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tripura. According to the Health Department of Andhra Pradesh, the investigation report of four people came in positive contact with the people who returned from Britain. The state returned 1,216 people from Britain, of which six were found infected. Three people have been found infected in Guntur and one in Nellore who came into contact with them.

A person returning from Britain has also been found infected in Tripura after Assam. Officials said the sample has been sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune to ascertain if it is infected with a new form of corona. Apart from this, two people each have been found infected in Telangana and Karnataka. These people too had recently returned from Britain.
At the same time, 477 out of 868 people returned from Europe and West Asia on 26 December in Maharashtra have been quarantined in Mumbai. 385 people have migrated to other states. While six people have been released from institutional quarantine. These include elderly, pregnant women and patients. At the same time, out of 1720 passengers who came to Gujarat from 25 November to 23 December from Britain and other European countries, a total of 12 people have been found corona infected.

Samples of all patients have been sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune and the Gujarat Biological Research Center in Gandhinagar to ascertain whether a new strain of Kovid is present. India has banned the movement of aircraft from the UK since 23 December after Kovid's new strain surfaced.
