Once with his maternal grandmother, Jetha ji also came to visit Goindwal Sahib. Then he did not return. While living there, the Guru became devoted to the service of the house and along with the service of the Guru home, he also continued to sell ghuganiyaan(Fruits).

Only the master knows the mercies of the Guru. Soon Jethaji became very fond of Guru Amardas ji and Guru Ji always used to call him as Ram Das. This name of Sodhi Ramdas has been given by Guru and even today Sodhi Sultan Satguru is sharing mercy with the world.

Guru Amardas ji's elder daughter Bibi Dani ji was married to Bhai Rama ji and younger daughter Bibi Bhani ji's age also became eligible for marriage. Mata Ram Kaur Ji, the wife of Guru Amardas Ji, one day asked Guru Ji to find a suitable groom for Bibi Bhani Ji because the daughter has grown up. At the same time, when Jaitha ji came there by selling ghuganiyaan(Fruits), Mata Ram Kaur Ji Seeing the beautiful appearance of Jethaji, she said that the boy should be like this.

Guru Ramdas ji got the permission of Guru Amardas ji and got the Sarovar Santoksar carved first in Amritsar Sahib. And later laid the foundation of the city of Amritsar as per Guruji's orders. For this, 500 bigha land was purchased from the landowners of Tung. According to the Amritsar Gazetteer, on 1577 AD, Guruji took the land in Amritsar and the adjacent 500 bighas of land from Akbar as a Jagir and in return gave 700 Akbari rupees to the zamindars of Tung village, who owned the land.

Guru ji excavated the lake and laid the foundation of Amritsar city. Which at that time was called Chakka Guru: ‘Chakka Ramdas’ or ‘Ramdaspura’. He called on people of 52 different kinds of occupations to live there and to open their businesses in Guruji's mandi, which was called 'Guru's Bazaar'.
