Seeing this, the uncultivated culture started in Ludhiana city. Workers must get rooms here but facilities are not available. Because of this, the standard of living of the workers fell. Now the standard of living of such workers is going to improve and the Punjab government is going to build 50,000 houses for them in Ludhiana.
Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has approved the project of giving roof for 50 thousand families in Ludhiana. The Improvement Trust has started working on this project. Those workers who want to buy these houses will not be able to buy or if they can get all kinds of facilities by paying less rent. The Chief Minister has also approved the proposal to construct 3000 MIG One and MIG Two Type Flats.
Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has asked the Improvement Trust to construct flats for workers and slum dwellers in different parts of the city under the Basera-Chief Ministers' Slum Development Program. The trust started functioning after getting the approval of the Chief Minister. Trust chairman Raman Bala Subrahmanyam said that he had prepared this project and sent it to the Chief Minister, which was cleared by the Chief Minister. He said that there are a large number of workers in Ludhiana who have to live in a bad environment and they do not get any facilities.
Therefore, the Chief Minister has given approval to work on this scheme. He said that slums in the city have been built by occupying government land. With this project, slum dwellers will also get homes at very low rates and government land will be vacant. He said that the Chief Minister has given him a target to build houses for 50 thousand families.
Site selection in Pakhowal Road, Bus Stand and Transport Nagar The Improvement Trust has visited three sites in Pakhowal Road, Bus Stand and Transport Nagar for the project. Those have now been finalized. Apart from this, other places are being searched. The chairman of the trust said that he is also working towards taking land from Glada, Municipal Corporation and other departments. He said that such flats will be built where space will be available.
