State Bureau, Chandigarh. Punjab Covid Cases Update: More than 400 new corona cases have been reported in Punjab for the second consecutive day on Monday. Out of 417 new patients, 143 are from Patiala alone. In this, the report of 31 doctors and 9 para medical staff members of Rajindra Hospital including Government Medical College has come corona positive. In Patiala, the report of a total of 40 doctors has come positive in two days.
Covid Restriction till 15-Jan'22
Like the whole country, from Monday, the corona vaccine was started for teenagers in the state too. A total of 3071 teenagers were given the first dose of corona on the first day. In view of the increasing cases of Corona, the Special Committee of the High Court has decided that till January 14, the hearing will be held in the High Court only through virtual mode.
School closed till fourth grade in Pathankot too
Schools and Anganwadi centers have also been closed till January 14 in Pathankot till class IV. According to the Health Department, a corona patient also died in Ludhiana during the last 24 hours. The positivity rate in the state has increased to 4.47 percent. After Patiala, Pathankot has the highest number of 58 and Ludhiana has 57 new cases. The number of active patients in the state has increased to 1741. Of these, 50 patients are on oxygen and two on ventilator support.
Keep beds and oxygen plants ready: DC
DC, Ludhiana. Due to the increasing cases of corona, now the administration has also swung into action. Ludhiana DC Varinder Sharma held a meeting with the Health Department officials and the managers of private hospitals on Monday evening. The DC said that taking seriously the way the cases of corona have increased in four days, keep the beds and oxygen plant fully ready from today itself. Private hospitals this time to increase beds by two times more than in the second wave. Prepare pediatric ICU and ward immediately. Please inform about it in a week. Health department officials have been asked to increase testing and sampling.
