
Market valuation of eight of the country's top 10 companies declined, Reliance Industry suffered the most

New Delhi, PTI. Eight of the top-10 most valuable companies suffered a combined loss of Rs 2,61,812.14 crore in market valuations last week, with Reliance Industries emerging as the biggest loser. The market valuation of Reliance Industries (RIL) declined by Rs 79,658.02 crore to Rs 15,83,118.61 crore last week. HDFC's market valuation declined by Rs 34,690.09 crore to Rs 4,73,922.86 crore. Whereas, the market valuation (m-cap) of Bajaj Finance declined by Rs 33,152.42 crore to Rs 4,16,594.78 crore and that of HDFC Bank declined by Rs 27,298.3 crore to Rs 8,16,229.89 crore. At the same time, the market valuation of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) declined by Rs 24,083.31 crore to Rs 5,24,052.84 crore and that of State Bank of India declined by Rs 24,051.83 crore to Rs 4,17,448.70 crore.
The market valuation of ICICI Bank declined by Rs 20,623.35 crore to Rs 5,05,547.14 crore. Whereas, the market valuation of Tata Consultancy Services declined by Rs 18,254.82 crore to Rs 13,26,923.71 crore. While the market valuation of the top ten companies declined in the last week, the market valuation of Infosys and Wipro registered an increase. The market valuation of Infosys rose by Rs 26,515.92 crore to Rs 7,66,123.04 crore. At the same time, the market valuation of Wipro increased by Rs 17,450.39 crore to Rs 3,67,126.39 crore.
Along with this, there was also a fall in the Indian stock market last week. During the last week, the BSE benchmark Sensex had lost 1,774.93 points or 3.01 per cent. This week too, on its last trading day i.e. on Friday, the Sensex closed at 57,011.74, down by 889.40 points, ie, 1.54 percent.
Reliance Industries has retained its first position among the top ten companies in India. It is followed by Tata Consultancy Services, HDFC Bank, Infosys, HUL, ICICI Bank, HDFC, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance and Wipro.
