Guru Nanak Dev Ji traveled in four phases in his life. At all places, he preached that God is one and there is only one divine light in every human being. In the fourth stop, he traveled to Mecca and Medina.

Guru Nanak Dev ji, who gave the message of goodwill and goodness of Sarbat to the world, gave priority to social concerns rather than sitting in one place or setting up a gurudwara. He not only raised his voice strongly against rituals and caste, but along with chanting the name, he also preached to do kirt and share by dividing. In order to give equal respect to women, to show the right path to the forgotten and to propagate the principle of humanity, Guru Nanak Dev ji made four journeys in his life, traveling 38 thousand miles. The Naam Naam Leva Sangat remembers them as sorrows.

In 1500 AD, Guru Nanak Dev ji visited a total of 248 major cities of the country in order to teach the lesson of unity to the society divided in caste and religion. He took many revolutionary steps for the welfare of the society going into the abyss. Taking Bhai Mardana with him, the first attack was done on the caste bond. Giving a bounty to the Lord for giving women the right to equality, he said Aiti maar pai kurlati, tai ki dard na aaya. In view of the welfare of the world, Guru ji traveled in four phases. In the first phase, he reached 79 places to give the message of humanity. By reaching 75 places in the second stage and 35 places in the third stage, Guru Ji preached that God is one and there is only one divine light in every human being. During the fourth Udasi, Guru ji traveled to 59 places and ended his journey through Anaradhapura and Manor in Sri Lanka in 1521.

First Udasi(Journey)

This journey was started by Guru Nanak Dev Ji in 1500 AD. From Kasur, reached Vridavan directly via Pehowa, Chuniya, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Haridwar, Najibabad, Delhi and from there Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Allahabad, Prayag, Banaras, Jainpur, Baksar, Chhapra, Hajipur, Gaya from Patna. From there Rajgiri, Mangher, Bhagalpur, Sahibpur, Raj Mahal, Malta, Parbatipur, Lal Minar, Gauhati, Imphal, Silwar, Sylhet, Agartala, Chitgaon, Chandpur, Dhaka, Faridpur, Shivaj Ganj, Mustafabad, Kishan Nagar, Balaghat, Jabalpur, Chitrakoot After five years through Sagar, Bhopal, Chanderi, Dholpur, Bharatpur, Jind, Kaithal, Malerkotla reached Sultanpur Lodhi back in 1505.

Second Udasi

Guruji started the second Udasi in 1506 from the land of Sultanpur Lodhi. During this, he first reached Bikaner via Bathida and Sirsa. From there Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Pushkar, Ajmer, Nasirabad, Marwar, Deogarh, Chittorgarh, Ujjain, Abu, Patan, Ahmedabad, Baswara, Jauda, ​​Mahidpur, Indore, Husangabad, Rentek, Amravati, Akola, Buldana, Hingoli, Basmat, Bidar, Golconda, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Anantapur, Cuddapah, Tirupati, Madras, Arcot, Pondicherry, Kumbakonam, Tanjore, Trichanapalli, Rameshwar, Trichomali (Sri Lanka), Kanya Kumar Cape, Trivadrum, Cochin, Coimbatore, Calicut, Mysore, Bangalore, Narasimha Pur, Goa, Dharwad, Rajpur, Poona, Bombay, Surat, Baroda, Bhadoch, Nimdi, Junagadh, Somnath, Dwarka, Mundra, Lakhpat, Amarkot, Khanpur, Mithankot, Bahawalpur, Multan, Pakpatan, Tulamba, Dipalpur, Lahore to Talwandi Sultanpur returned to Lodhi in 1509 AD.

fourth Udasi

Guru Nanak Dev ji started his fourth Udasi from Kartarpur from 1518 AD and covered Pasrur, Wazirabad, Katas, Dhakwal, Kalabagh, Dera Ismail Khan, Takhte-e-Sulaiman, Dera Ghazi Khan, Jampur, Fazalpur, Hanad, Shakhar, Rohri, They reached Baghdad via Shikarpur, Larkana, Amarkot, Sanghava, Hyderabad, (Sindh), Deval (Karachi), Hinglaj, Adasana, Mecca, Jdda, Medina, Jerusalem, Damascus, Parachinar (Peshawar), Gorkhahatdi, Alipo. From there to Isfaran, Tehran, Mashhad, Khawarizm, Bakhara, Samarkand, Balkh, Mazar, Kabal, Kandahar, Jalabalabad, Jamrod, Pashaur, Hassan Abdal, Imnabad to Sri Lanka Batikula (Matiyakulam), Kukukal Mantap, Kataragama, Noor, Ahliyan , had returned to Kartarpur via Sitawaka, Anuradhapura and Manor.
