Indigenously built stealth guided missile destroyer INS Imphal will be inducted into the naval fleet at a ceremony held at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai on Tuesday. • The naming of the warship after the capital of Manipur reflects the security and prosperity of the North-Eastern region.

• The ship is equipped to fight under nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) warfare conditions. Secret features enhance its combat capability.

• Medium range surface-to-air missiles have also been installed in this warship.

• Indigenous anti-submarine rocket launcher and 76 mm super rapid gun have also been installed in the warship.

• INS Imphal is equipped with state-of-the-art weapons and sensors including anti-aircraft missiles, anti-ship missiles and torpedoes. The BrahMos missile fired from this warship rotates at 90 degrees. Has the power to attack the enemy.

• If we talk about the speed of the warship, the ship can move at a speed above 30 knots (56 km/h).

• According to the Indian Navy, INS Imphal can be considered one of the most powerful warships built in India.

• Naval officials said that after the commissioning, the ship will join the Western Naval Command.
